The 2016 KGMS Show was a fun and exciting show with a full size copy of Norm (the Chicago Field Museum’s traveling T-Rex) head at the show. Yes, we expect a cast of Sue but Norm was exciting too.
A lot of you got some terrific selfies with the raptor.
On Saturday U of M Natural History Museum demonstrated what a paleontologist does and offer activities for kids. Kingman Museum brought replica dinosaur skulls, stegosaur plates and much more.
Western Michigan University students provide hands on educational activities.
Palo Joe was also in attendance doing “Dinosaur CSI” with Friday school groups and his “Great Lakes Basin Fossils” presentation Friday night. Sunday’s afternoon presentation was, “Dinosaur Day with Paleo Joe”.
Presentations continued with Dave Haas doing Meteorites on Sunday.
I do not know when the last time we had a flintnapper at the show but we did have one this year and plan to have one in 2017.
A number of artist demonstrated in various lapidary and jewelry crafts.
