School Kids Day:
The Friday of the Annual KGMS Show is “Kids Day” where all 3rd - 8th grade students from area counties, are invited to attend. Teachers also leverage the field trip by incorporating quizzes and learning activities around what is presented including a club sponsored program.

KGMS offers $150 bus subsidies for participating elementary and middle schools to attend the show on Friday “Kids Day”. The teachers are provided curriculum guides and activity sheets in advance, to assist with integrating the visit into class activities.

The Annual KGMS Show is designed to cater to kids. There are educational displays, mineral starter kits and a rock specimen table that permits hands-on learning. Also, many people donate their time to demonstrate and teach the hobby such as wire wrapping, gem faceting, slate carving, sliver smithing, and beading.
